The 2025-26 season definitely didn't go the way that Giannis Antetokounmpo planned, between the Milwaukee Bucks' lackluster 32-50 record and 11th place conference finish and the amount of time that Antetokounmpo actually missed this season, playing a career-low 36 games.

Despite playing so few games due to the number of injuries that he suffered, like a hyperextended knee and bone bruise and multiple calf strains, Antetokounmpo still had a productive season when he was actually on the court, averaging 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists while shooting 62.4% from the field. 

He still clearly has the MVP-caliber talent that has made him so effective throughout his career and he's planning on keeping that NBA career going for a long time, though he also teased a potential second basketball career elsewhere when all is said and done in the United States. 

According to a report by ClutchPoints, Antetokounmpo attended the EuroLeague Final and when he was there, he was asked if he'd ever play in the EuroLeague.

Antetokounmpo didn't close the door on the idea and mentioned his overseas experience playing with the Greek National Team, but he asserted the NBA is his top priority. 

“Yeah, yeah. Maybe one day it's gonna happen, but right now my focus is to play in the NBA for as many years as I can,” Antetokounmpo said (via ClutchPoints). 

Antetokounmpo still has a lot left to do in the NBA before any kind of EuroLeague berth, if there was any, would happen. 

Considering he's been embroiled in constant drama with the Bucks since this past season about the possibility of him being traded away, something that Antetokounmpo has been fueling with his comments about playing for a contender and based on what he's said, winning another championship is fresh on his mind.

The Bucks have said their taking calls about trading their franchise star and depending on how those conversations go, he could be looking at a new home in the NBA sooner rather than later. 

Wherever Antetokounmpo's destination is, whether that's still in Milwaukee or otherwise, Antetokounmpo will be fighting hard, not just for a championship, but for another personally fulfilling season after his limited playing time and the disappointing season result.

A healthy Antetokounmpo is something that the rest of the NBA needs to prepare for and they'll have to prepare for it for years in the future

After that, though, EuroLeague might have to prepare next.
