The Bucks' road woes continue as they fall to the Grizzlies 104-125.
The 15-16 Memphis Grizzlies were too much for the 12-19 Milwaukee Bucks as the Bucks fell yet again on the road.
The Bucks once again had extreme scoring droughts and were outscored 15 to 35 and 21 to 33 in the second and fourth quarters alone.
“They didn’t do anything,” Porter Jr. said. “I think we’re still in our own battle.”
The Bucks have certainly been battling this season.
With Antetokounmpo still on the sidelines, Rivers and his roster have struggled heavily as they currently sit in 11th, outside of a playoff spot.
“We’re supposed to be winning, we’re a winning organization and we got some guys out but we have all we need to win games,” Porter Jr. said.
The Bucks have come a long way since their 2020-21 Finals win.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is the main option still in Milwaukee, but the Bucks have rebuilt from the ground up.
Young guard acquisitions like Ryan Rollins and Kevin Porter Jr. have been vital for the offense.
Porter Jr. was once again the leading option on offense, but the Bucks are still struggling to put the ball in the basket without Antetokounmpo.
Porter Jr. had 16 points, on 15 shots. However, he had 7 turnovers, bringing his average up to 3.7 per game.
“I think I’m moving a little too quick, not being on the same page as my guys,” Porter Jr. said.
Kevin Porter Jr. is 37-114 as a starter in the NBA, continuing to struggle with becoming an efficient scorer.
The Bucks had 22 turnovers and the Grizzlies capitalized on it.
Seven of their 10 rotation players had 12 or more points as the Memphis rotation outmuscled the Bucks.
“We got to make sure we got better spacing when the ball’s in my hands.”
The Bucks shot 43% from the field compared to the Grizzlies' 51% over the course of the game.
With the Bucks only staying competitive for two quarters in the contest, Rivers is excited for Antetokounmpo’s return.
“We got to put a full 48 together,” Porter Jr. said.
Milwaukee’s leading scorers were AJ Green with 20 points and Porter Jr. with 16. A clear lack without Antetokounmpo on the court.
“He’s the best player in the world,” Porter Jr. said.
Although one Antetokounmpo was back with three minutes and zero points, Giannis is still out, but is expected to play against the Bulls.
The Bucks face the 15-15 Bulls on the road this Saturday at 8:00 p.m. EST.
