Kyle Kuzma has quietly become a seasoned NBA veteran over his nine season career and during the Milwaukee Bucks' 129-114 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday, Kuzma crossed what's been the most impactful milestone for him yet.
Kuzma put up a game-leading 33 point performance on 12-21 shooting from the field along with three rebounds and three assists and in the process he scored the 10,000th point of his NBA career, a testament to his steady production over the years.
He had a feeling that this milestone was coming. After the game, Kuzma that he started to wonder how close he was to the 10,000 mark and checked a day or two before the fateful game against the Suns, only to realize that he was just one good performance away, something that he said made it into his morning prayers.
Hitting the milestone is the realization of one of Kuzma's major career goals as a player and connects him back to the big game dreams he had in his youth.
"As a kid, I said my two dreams were: I wanted to play in the NBA and I wanted to score 10,000 points, Random. Just so random how it happens," Kuzma said (via Bucks). "I knew I was getting close... When I was praying this morning, I told God, 'You know it would be cool if I could score 30 tonight'... and I had 33."
Kuzma has had a winding career in close to a decade in the NBA, but for all the downs there have been some pretty stellar ups as as well.

Jeff Hanisch-Imagn ImagesDrafted 27th overall by the Brooklyn Nets in 2017 and eventually making his season debut for the Los Angeles Lakers in that same year, Kuzma hasn't ever fully materialized into the next major star player, but he's never been a slouch either.
He's carved out a starting role in the NBA for most of his career and won a championship with the Lakers in 2020. In his second season with the Bucks, he's been a veteran presence in a more than rocky season, but performances like the one he had against Phoenix, despite the end result, prove he still has production in the tank.
Kuzma has one more year left on his contract with the Bucks and even if this season has amounted mostly to a wash, Kuzma can see a clear leadership role ahead of him with a Bucks squad that's getting increasingly younger.
Even after his contract is up, there will certainly still be a place for Kuzma in the league, with even more milestones to come.
