The Milwaukee Bucks will be without their top two scorers against the Washington Wizards

The Milwaukee Bucks are at the top of sports headlines, but for all the wrong reasons. ESPN's Shams Charania reported this week that Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks are listening to offers ahead of the February 5th trade deadline, as Milwaukee could be saying goodbye very soon to its franchise's all-time great star.

With all of this circling around and Giannis sidelined during this, the Bucks have struggled on the court, going just 3-7 in their past 10 games, holding the 12th seed in the Eastern Conference behind a surging Charlotte Hornets team. On Thursday, they travel to face the Washington Wizards without several key players.

Bucks Injury Report

As mentioned, the Bucks remain without Giannis Antetokounmpo, as the star forward is OUT for Thursday's contest due to a right calf strain expected to sideline him for several weeks.

He's been Milwaukee's leading scorer this season at 28.0 points per game to go with 10.0 rebounds and 5.6 assists. Giannis' lowest scoring average since the 2018-19 season, it's also the least amount of minutes he's averaged (29.2 MPG) since his rookie season.

Milwaukee is also without its second-leading scorer, Kevin Porter Jr., as he's OUT due to a right oblique strain. Porter Jr. is averaging 16.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 5.0 assists to go along with 2.1 steals per game. He's been a great bargain piece for the Bucks this season, and could be a priority for them to re-sign in the offseason.

The rest of the injury report features Alex Antetokounmpo (two-way), Gary Harris (hamstring), and Taurean Prince (neck) all ruled OUT, with Cole Anthony listed as QUESTIONABLE due to illness.

Wizards Injury Report

The injury report for Washington features some key players as well, with Trae Young (MCL), Cam Whitmore (thrombosis), Tristan Vukcevic (hamstring), and Marvin Bagley III (thoracic) all ruled OUT for Thursday's contest.

2024 second-overall pick Alex Sarr is also listed on the injury report, holding a QUESTIONABLE tag due to illness. Sarr has drastically improved since his rookie season, averaging 17.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game in 36 contests.

Game Preview

If the Bucks are set to move off of Giannis before the February 5th trade deadline passes, then neither of these sides has much of a desire to compete going forward this season. With the Wizards' pick being protected to the New York Knicks, they won't want to play around with potentially losing their selection in a loaded 2026 class.

For the Bucks, the rights to their first belong to the Atlanta Hawks, but will more than likely convey to them unless for some crazy lottery luck.

Tip-off in Washington, DC is set for 7:00 p.m. EST.
