Pacers legend and NBA analyst Reggie Miller shared his thoughts on the idea of Giannis Antetokounmpo being traded for Jaylen Brown.
The Milwaukee Bucks are still working on moving Giannis Antetokounmpo elsewhere after he requested a trade in January. There have been many teams linked to Giannis, and one team that could be in the mix to acquire the former MVP is the Boston Celtics.
Trading for Giannis could cost the Celtics a big haul, which means giving up guard Jaylen Brown could be a reality they will have to face. Hall of Fame player and NBA analyst Reggie Miller shared his thoughts about the idea of Giannis being swapped for Brown and how it could be beneficial for Boston.
Miller went on to talk about how Boston tends to live and die by the three and how adding Giannis could give them stability inside. In 2025-2026, the Celtics took the third-most three-point attempts per game as a team, sitting at 42.5 attempts per game.
The high volume of three-point shots hurt Boston in its first-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers. Boston shot just 33.7 percent from downtown and never found a rhythm from the perimeter.
Their worst performance was Game 1, where they shot just 4-for-23. The solution to this problem could be to add more shooters, but this has been a philosophy for the Celtics for several seasons, dating back to their championship run.
Bill Streicher-Imagn ImagesWhat Could Adding Jaylen Brown Do For Milwaukee?
If Milwaukee swaps Giannis for Jaylen Brown, they add a proven veteran who has reached a high level of success. Brown has been a part of multiple winning seasons with the Celtics and won Finals MVP honors in their championship run.
He is still playing at a very high level and was the leader of a Celtics team that was without its other star player, Jayson Tatum. Brown finished the regular season averaging 28.7 points per game, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists.
The Bucks would be getting back a player whom they could build around for years to come and can help them contend for a playoff spot. Milwaukee already has various young players who are developing, and Brown's veteran presence could elevate the roster.
Bill Streicher-Imagn ImagesThe issue the Bucks could face is their overall roster depth, even with Jaylen Brown on the roster. Brown would be the clear premier player on the roster, but if players like Ryan Rollins don't step up, that could be a big issue and make the team one-dimensional.
Milwaukee will continue to weigh its options through this process, but there is a good chance it will get a substantial return for its franchise cornerstone.
