Some Bucks may need to be cut.
The NBA regular season is nearly here, so now is the time for teams to make their final roster decisions and in some cases, make some hard cuts to make space for the players that have stood out the most.
For the Milwaukee Bucks, that process will be more critical and more involves than most. The Bucks are fully in their rebuilding era after trading Giannis Antetokounmpo earlier in the offseason and receiving a haul in return, so the Bucks have a wealth of players from their aggressive offseason pursuits to choose from when making final roster cuts.
As the team looks to forge a new identity, finding the perfect fits becomes more important than ever and consideration has to be made for which players can play the biggest role in the long term and which players will need the most attention to foster their development.

Rick Osentoski-Imagn ImagesWith that process in mind, a recent article from ClutchPoints has laid out two players who will likely be on the chopping block when the Bucks have to lock in their roster for the regular season.
Caris LeVert
First on that list is guard Caris LeVert, who was traded from the Detroit Pistons to the Bucks along with two future picks in a larger six-team trade.
LeVert is in the awkward place of being owed a fairly substantial contract at nearly $15 million next season while also not being valued very highly on the Milwaukee depth chart.

Ken Blaze-Imagn ImagesThe Bucks have a wealth of guards with players like Ryan Rollins, Tyler Herro and 2026 first-round pick Brayden Burries all likely dominating the front end of head coach Taylor Jenkins' rotation, and both Rollins and Burries specifically will benefit from more responsibility on their shoulders.
That simply doesn't leave any room for LeVert to have significant minutes and as a result will likely lead the Bucks to parting ways with him before the season begins.
Pete Nance
Milwaukee Bucks forward Pete Nance (35) sets the play while defended by Brooklyn Nets forward E.J. Liddell (9) during the first half at Barclays Center. John Jones-Imagn ImagesForward/center Pete Nance has been with the Bucks for two seasons on a two-way contract, but had his contract converted to a multi-year deal this offseason, which would indicate a longer future in Milwaukee under different circumstances.
But the Bucks have already picked up a lot of more promising big man talent this offseason as well.

Not only do veterans forward Kyle Kuzma and center Myles Turner dominate the starting slots, but new acquisitions like 2026 first-round pick forward Nate Ament and center Kel'el Ware, who came over in the Antetokounmpo trade, will also warrant serious minutes.
Like LeVert, there isn't much reason to justify placing Nance's usage over those players in the longterm plans of the team and when the Bucks need to make space, Nance will likely be the first to go.
