Down 16, the Bulls staged a furious comeback, clinching a nail-biting 121-120 victory with a clutch defensive stand.

The Chicago Bulls desperately needed a boost to rebound from the devastating loss to the Miami Heat on Friday at home. Despite facing an unexpected offensive threat from a team suffering a 13-game losing streak, the group weathered down and came back firm.

The Bulls (9-7) clawed back in the fourth, which desperately needed breathing room while attempting to evaporate deficits multiple times over Saturday night at the United Center, eventually taking their first lead in the final minutes and sealing the victory.

Nikola Vucevic led the scoreboard with a 28-point masterpiece. Josh Giddey posted a double-double, gaining 18 points that were accompanied by 11 assists. Coby White made his first start of the season with 20 points and six assists in 31 minutes.

On the Washington side, Corey Kispert and Cam Whitmore produced 20 points, respectively. CJ McCollum contributed 18 points.

Matas Buzelis opened the scoring, followed by Coby White's three-pointer, but McCollum and Alex Sarr quickly responded, building an early 14-7 Wizards lead. Josh Giddey found Buzelis for an and-one drive, and Nikola Vucevic's tip-in trimmed the deficit to 11-14. White drew a foul and hit two free throws to cut it to one.

After Kispert’s and-one, Kevin Huerter scored a contested layup, and Vucevic's putback tied it at 17. Midway through the first, Washington exploded with a seven-point run to build a five-point lead. Kyshawn George and Whitmore combined for four free throws, extending the advantage to seven, and the Bulls trailed 37-29. White powered through contact for a bucket, Julian Phillips converted a putback dunk, and White's stepback three cut the Bulls' deficit to 40-41 after one.

Noa Essengue checked in for his first NBA game in the second quarter. Jalen Smith's 26-footer gave Chicago its first lead, but Washington answered with four quick points. Kispert knocked down back-to-back threes, building a 10-point Wizards lead and forcing a Bulls timeout.

A Chicago turnover and Buzelis’ shot missing allowed Washington to extend the lead to 14. Vucevic scored an and-one, Buzelis drew a foul on a pick-and-roll cut, and Giddey's steal led to a fastbreak. White scored two from the line at last, cutting it to six before halftime. Bulls trailed 64-70.

Vucevic entered the third hot with four straight points. White blasted a ridiculous and-one three on contact, cutting the deficit to one in just one minute. McCollum responded with an and-one floater, and Kispert and Alex Sarr combined for five points to extend Washington's lead to nine.

Giddey, ice-cold on shooting Saturday night, knocked down a dagger corner three under pressure. But Chicago went dormant, missing multiple shots as Kispert answered with a three. Huerter found Jalen Smith for a cut-in bucket, and Giddey powered through an and-one. Washington instantly punished with five straight points, building another 10-point lead at 91-81.

Giddey and Tre Jones combined for four points. Giddey then found Smith behind with a hand-off pass, and Smith drove to the basket, reducing the gap to four (87-91). Huerter found Ayo Dosunmu on top for a three, cutting it to one. But Bub Carrington answered with a three. After Huerter missed a transition reverse layup, Carrington converted a fastbreak. Washington led 98-92 entering the fourth.

White weaved through traffic and delivered to Giddey for an open corner three. After Whitmore missed his second free throw, Giddey found Huerter for a quick three, cutting it to two. Whitmore responded from deep, then Smith powered downhill while trailing by three.

Giddey broke through on the weak side for a tough drive. McCollum stepped up with a driving floater, and Sarr added a jumper for a six-point Washington advantage. Jones and Vucevic combined for five. Buzelis, struggling from three all night, hit a corner shot to give Chicago the lead since the second quarter.

Sarr missed two free throws. Vucevic spun inside for a hook, leading 114-110. Vucevic knocked down another three to beat the clock. McCollum and George hit consecutive threes to retake the lead. White drove in transition, but Washington scored two in chaos.

With 37 seconds left, Jones drew a foul and hit two massive free throws, putting the Bulls up one. George missed an 18-foot jumper, and Chicago's defensive pressure forced a turnover with one second left. Bulls survived.
