The Chicago Bulls and No. 4 overall pick Caleb Wilson take on the Memphis Grizzlies and No. 3 overall pick Cameron Boozer in preseason action.

The Chicago Bulls continue preseason on Friday night when they take on the Memphis Grizzlies.

The matchup will see the Bulls' No. 4 overall pick Caleb Wilson, who went to North Carolina, match up with a familiar foe in former Duke Blue Devils and current Grizzlies star Cameron Boozer.

Memphis is coming off of a 122-118 preseason loss to the Orlando Magic. In that game, Boozer continued to show off his advanced feel, posting an efficient 16 points (4-7 FG), 6 rebounds and 2 assists (2 turnovers) over 22 minutes.

Boozer is averaging 13.5 PPG, 5.5 RPG and 3.0 APG over two preseason games.

Chicago's last game was their first preseason matchup, which they won 121-117 over the Phoenix Suns. Wilson finished with 15 points (on 15 FGAs), and while he was aggressive, he could not continue his hot streak from 3-point range (0-4).

The game against Memphis will continue to provide excellent data points on how Wilson handles the physicality of the NBA.

While it is not 100% that Isaiah Stewart will suit up for Memphis (GTD, ankle), Zach Edey, GG Jackson, Taylor Hendricks and Olivier-Maxence Prosper will all provide a decent challenge for Wilson.

The last time Boozer and Wilson faced off was the NBA Las Vegas Summer League. That matchup was truly electric, with Wilson dropping a summer league debut record 35 points. Boozer finished with a well-rounded 23-point, 6-rebound, 4-assist performance, along with the win.

Although the Grizzlies are in the Western Conference--for now--it would appear that Wilson vs. Boozer has the potential to be one of the league's more intriuging long-term rivalries. There is the built-in Duke vs. North Carolina connection, on top of the fact that Boozer and Wilson were the third and fourth overall picks in the 2026 NBA Draft.
