Here's everything you need to know about Bulls vs. Jazz.

After losing to the Houston Rockets on Tuesday, the Chicago Bulls have less than 24 hours to rest before welcoming the Utah Jazz at the United Center.

Despite losing to a Western powerhouse, there were a few highlights beyond mediocrity last night: Tre Jones’ career night and Matas Buzelis’ continued surge. With the rescheduled change allowing Coby White to rest, Jones was able to dive downhill and pick up the full court with more balls in his hands, while Buzelis became more confident in utilizing his athleticism and length.

The shorthanded status continues to test the Bulls’ depth, and it showed progress in the battle with a Houston team featuring Kevin Durant, with 35 lead changes before Chicago encountered a breakdown in the clutch later on. Though the Bulls’ bench has proven strong, their lack of strength on both sides in late-game situations might be one of the most important factors in the result, despite having a league-sixth ranking in clutch games (13-10).

Though Utah has had a clear agenda for tanking, and its loss of Walker Kessler, who is out for the season due to a shoulder injury, hit significantly on the depth. However, Jazz’s young core shouldn’t be overlooked. Against a 22-19 Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday, the Jazz piled up five players with double-digit scoring. Markkanen and George combined for 60 points in the 123-112 win.

For the last time out, the Bulls suffered a hard-fought double-overtime loss to the Jazz, 150-147, on Nov. 16. Lauri Markannen and Keyonte George poured in 47 and 33 points, respectively. Though the latest injury report has listed Markannen out for tonight with an illness, the Bulls have to take care of a stocking-up George, who averaged 21.3 points over 10 games.
