The Chicago Bulls take on the Eastern Conference-leading Detroit Pistons and old friend Kevin Huerter on Saturday night, looking to put an end to a seven-game losing streak. Chicago finally received some good news on the injury front, with Josh Giddey returning from his eight-game absence due to a left hamstring strain against the Toronto Raptors Thursday night.
Giddey obviously needs some time to get back in a good groove after his eight-game hiatus, and it showed on Thursday. The 6-foot-7 Australian guard finished with 5 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, a block, and 4 turnovers in 21 minutes of action. Giddey also finished the night 3-4 from the free throw line, showing some burst of aggression on offense despite being rusty. He shot a porous 1-7 from the field, missing a pair of 3-point attempts, but overall it was encouraging to see him setting up his teammates and not forcing the issue too much when his shot wasn't falling.
Chicago hasn't had much success against Detroit this season, although they have won one of the three games in the regular season series so far. Will the Bulls be able to shock the world and even the regular season series at 2-2 against the No. 1 seed in the East?
