On Tuesday evening the Chicago Bulls look to build some positive momentum--which has been rare for them as of late--as they try to build off of their 127-90 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday, a win that snapped a whopping 11-game losing streak, when they take on the Oklahoma City Thunder. In that comfortable win over Milwaukee, the Bulls used a massive 33-8 fourth quarter to put away a Bucks team that otherwise hung around all night.
As the calendar officially flips to March, there will be plenty of detractors who bring up the Bulls propensity to play well when the stakes are the lowest, but efforts like Josh Giddey's 20-point triple-double are still impressive for a young team trying to build winning habits. Those winning habits will be tested in a big way when the young Chicago Bulls take on the reigning NBA Champion Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday.
OKC has won 7 of their last 10 games, with Gilgeous-Alexander dropping 30 points on 12-20 shooting, as the Thunder defense held the Dallas Mavericks to 87 points on 39% shooting from the field. Chicago isn't afraid to fire away from deep, which will be beneficial in a game against an OKC team that will be without their reigning MVP in SGA. OKC last lost in a 124-116 defeat to the Detroit Pistons, who used a massive Jalen Duren game (29 points, 15 rebounds) to sink the Thunder. Chicago doesn't have a big capable of putting that type of pressure on OKC, although Nick Richards will obviously have some utility on the glass. With Hartenstein also out for the Thunder on Tuesday, the Bulls having a strong effort in the paint will be huge, which will mean looking for Richards and Matas Buzelis early and often on lobs.
