The 2026 NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles marks the third consecutive year that the Chicago Bulls will not be represented at the league's midseason exhibition.
However, the entire All-Star Weekend is full of events, and one of the young Bulls will take the stage on Friday night. Here's everything you need to know about the Chicago Bulls' participation in Los Angeles and how you can watch each event:
Second-year forward Matas Buzelis, the No. 11 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, was selected to take part in the Rising Stars competition for the third year in a row. The Rising Stars event used to be an annual game between the league's Rookies and Sophomores, but it has now taken a different format.
Twenty-one first- and second-year players were selected to participate in the challenge, then drafted into three teams by Hall-of-Famers Carmelo Anthony, Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady.
Buzelis was picked by Carter to play for Team Vince, alongside Memphis Grizzlies guards Cedric Coward and Jaylen Wells, Brooklyn Nets guard Egor Demin, Philadelphia 76ers guard VJ Edgecombe, Washington Wizards forward Kyshawn George and New Orleans Pelicans forward Derik Queen.
A fourth team comprised entirely of G League players was also added, coached by former 11-year NBA guard Austin Rivers. Bulls two-way guard Mac McClung, who agreed to a contract with the team on Feb. 5, was selected to play for Team Austin. However, McClung will not participate in the Rising Stars competition due to injury.
Prior to being drafted by the Bulls, Buzelis played on the G League Rising Stars team as a member of the now-disbanded G League Ignite. He was a part of the event as a rookie in 2025 as well.
Team Melo, Team Vince, Team T-Mac and Team Austin will face off in a four-team tournament on Friday night. Team Austin and Team Melo take the floor first at 9:00 p.m. ET/8:00 p.m. CT, followed by Team Vince vs. Team T-Mac at 9:55 p.m. ET/8:55 p.m. CT.
The winner of each game will then play in the Rising Stars Championship at approximately 10:35 p.m. ET/9:35 p.m. CT.

Both Buzelis and McClung participated in the 2025 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, with McClung taking home the crown for the third year in a row. Buzelis revealed recently that he turned down an invitation to this year's Slam Dunk Contest, largely due to the gauntlet of games that he had to play heading into the All-Star break.
A rescheduled game left the Bulls with a brutal stretch of four games over five days at the end of January. Buzelis said he would not have had enough time to prepare for the Dunk Contest and was going to "listen to his body," but noted he hopes to be invited again in 2027.
McClung will not participate after winning the 2023 Slam Dunk Contest with the Philadelphia 76ers and the 2024 and 2025 Slam Dunk Contests with the Orlando Magic. He is one of two competitors ever to be a three-time winner of the event, joining Nate Robinson.
