Huerter's Shot Secures Bulls Win on Derrick Rose Jersey Retirement Night cover image

Chicago topped the Boston Celtics, 114-111, to win its fourth game in a row.

Chicago Bulls guard Kevin Huerter speaks to the media after his buzzer-beater to beat the Boston Celtics, 114-111, on Jan. 24, 2026.

For the first time since Nov. 24, the Chicago Bulls are above .500.

Kevin Huerter hit a game-winning three-pointer with 0.2 seconds remaining to lift the Bulls over the Celtics on Saturday night, 114-111. The shot clinched Chicago's fourth consecutive victory, advancing the team's record to 23-22 and tying them for eighth in the Eastern Conference.

The buzzer-beater sent the United Center into a frenzy, just minutes before franchise legend Derrick Rose had his No. 1 jersey retired by the Bulls.

Coby White had 22 points and seven assists, while six other Bulls scored in double figures. Huerter ended with 12 points, chipping in two of Chicago's 21 threes. The Bulls' 83 made triples over the last four games are the most in franchise history.

Jaylen Brown and Anfernee Simons scored 33 and 21 points for the Celtics, respectively.

The Bulls took their first eight shots from deep, connecting on four of them. Jalen Smith's hook gave Chicago its first make from inside the arc, then Matas Buzelis threw down a vicious jam over Celtics guard Derrick White.

Chicago led by two at the end of the first quarter, but fortunes quickly reversed. Simons and Brown gashed the Bulls' interior defense as the Celtics built an eight-point advantage. Boston took a six-point lead into the break behind a 20-piece from Brown.

A 7-0 run by Smith and Nikola Vucevic out of the half regained the lead for Chicago as momentum carried throughout the third. Fueled by a trio of three-pointers from Coby White, the Bulls scored 36 points in the period and pulled ahead, 88-85.

Both teams traded punches down the stretch, with the Bulls and Celtics combining to make eight of their first 10 triples of the fourth quarter. Patrick Williams took to the baseline for a two-handed flush before Josh Giddey's floater forced Boston to call a timeout, trailing by three.

Buzelis answered a Brown layup with Chicago's fifth consecutive three-point make, but the Bulls couldn't find a basket to stretch the lead beyond four. Derrick White cut it to two, and when Smith missed a putback dunk opportunity, Brown tied the game on a transition layup against Giddey.

With the score knotted at 111 and 14.2 seconds remaining, Giddey drained the clock before swinging the rock to White, then Huerter in the left corner. Huerter subsequently knocked down the game-winning three with 0.2 seconds on the clock.

The Bulls will look to extend their winning streak to five against the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday.
