The 17-63 Washington Wizards were no match for Tre Jones, Collin Sexton and Leonard Miller.

Leonard Miller continues to show that the Bulls found a diamond in the rough in the Ayo Dosunmu trade.

The 22-year-old was an end-of-the-bench player in Minnesota, which drafted him in the second round in 2023. Since arriving in Chicago at the trade deadline, Miller has increased his scoring average from 2.3 points per game pre-trade to 11.4 points per game with the Bulls.

Thursday night against the Wizards was his best game yet. Miller made 11 of his 14 shots, scoring a career-high 26 points and adding 11 rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block. The Bulls beat the league-worst Wizards in Washington, D.C., for the second time in three days, 119-108.

Tre Jones led the team in scoring with 31 points, eclipsing at least 15 points for the 10th time in his last 11 games and converting on all 12 of his free throws. Collin Sexton added 27 points and came up with three steals.

Chicago's win — along with Milwaukee's loss to the Pistons on Wednesday — moved the Bulls into a tie for the ninth-best NBA Draft Lottery. Both teams are 31-49 with two games remaining and a coin toss would break the tie between the ninth- and 10th-best lottery odds. The difference between the two picks is a 6.4% increased chance at a top-four selection and a 1.5% increased chance at the No. 1 overall pick.

Patrick Williams picked up exactly where he left off in D.C. He scored or assisted on the game's first seven points, putting the Bulls in front early. The Wizards' turnover woes gave Guerschon Yabusele back-to-back steals, which the veteran Frenchman beamed forward for a pair of transition dimes. Chicago's 15-4 run to start the game was punctuated by a vicious slam from Miller and forced Washington to call a quick timeout.

The Bulls' lead grew to 13 points before Billy Donovan turned to his G League players. A four-minute scoring drought followed and Washington ended the first quarter down by eight, 32-24.

That momentum brought the Wizards back, fueled by seven second-quarter points from Sharife Cooper. Washington appeared as though it would take a one-point advantage into the break, but Jones went coast-to-coast and was fouled with 0.1 seconds left on the clock. Jones' perfect trip to the free-throw line put Chicago ahead at halftime, 52-51.

Sexton took over in the third. The Bulls' midseason trade acquisition went 6-of-9 from the floor for 13 points, almost entirely on drives, to bring his total to 21 points on the night. He and Jones combined for 25 of Chicago's 35 third-quarter points.

The tide turned when Julian Reese committed a Flagrant 1 foul. With the Wizards down five, Reese grabbed an offensive rebound and attempted to put another shot back up, but elbowed the face of Yuki Kawamura. The 24-year-old two-way guard knocked down a pair of free throws and jump-started an 8-0 Bulls run at the end of the quarter.

Chicago's run continued into the fourth quarter, and the 21-8 run stretched the Bulls' lead to as many as 18 points. Washington ended up cutting its deficit to 10, but Jones drilled a late three-pointer to help keep the Bulls in front by a healthy margin.

The Bulls are set to return home to face the Magic on Friday night before closing the regular season on the road against the Dallas Mavericks.
