The basketball gods have struck the Chicago Bulls with bad injury luck once again.
Among what was widely expected to be a much easier slate of games, the Bulls' struggles have continued as November nears its end. Chicago was blown out by the Heat last Friday, barely escaped the Wizards on Saturday and fell to the lowly Pelicans on Monday.
Chicago is set to face off against the 4-14 Hornets (Friday) and the 2-16 Pacers (Saturday) on the road this weekend, and while both contests could prove to be get-back games, the Bulls are likely to find themselves shorthanded.
Friday afternoon's injury report revealed just how badly the Bulls are banged up, just 17 games into the 2025-26 season. Six members of the rotation were listed as questionable or doubtful with various injuries, including three starters.
Nikola Vucevic warned that the Bulls were playing 'soft' after their last-second win over Washington. The veteran center was proven correct two days later, when Chicago was embarrassed by the Pelicans without him. Vucevic is officially questionable with the same right knee injury that sidelined him against New Orleans.
Coby White has continued to ramp up as he returns from a preseason right calf strain, and the guard appears to be good-to-go for the Charlotte game. Though he was initially listed as questionable, Chicago Sports Network's K.C. Johnson reported shortly after that White had been upgraded to probable. White grew up in North Carolina and will likely play the first half of the back-to-back this weekend.
Chicago's wing depth will also be tested, as Isaac Okoro (back), Patrick Williams (left wrist sprain), Kevin Huerter (pelvic contusion) and Dalen Terry (left calf strain) are all uncertain to play. Okoro is doubtful and hasn't played since the game against the Heat. Williams, Huerter and Terry are questionable, though Williams is coming off a 27-minute outing in New Orleans.
The team will also be without its expected two-way players. Noa Essengue, Lachlan Olbrich, Trentyn Flowers and Emanuel Miller are all out with G League designations.
Reserve center Zach Collins is still recovering from a left wrist fracture that has sidelined him the entire season so far.
The Bulls are 2.5-point favorites in the NBA Cup game against the Hornets on Friday and two-point favorites over the Pacers.
