The Bulls' season has taken a rough turn in the month of February. After trading away roughly half of the roster at the deadline, Chicago is a floundering team looking for any sort of hope to grab onto.
Whether that's promising young players, late-season breakouts or hidden gems acquired in trades, there are a lot of places for Bulls fans to find hope. Unfortunately for them, none of them have manifested as of late.
The Bulls have dropped eight consecutive games, including 11 of their last 12. Young prospects like Matas Buzelis and Rob Dillingham have had up-and-down performances, while a potential trade gem in Jaden Ivey logged a DNP and is now dealing with knee soreness.
On Sunday afternoon, Chicago got some more tough news on the injury front. Head coach Billy Donovan revealed in his pregame press conference that Anfernee Simons, who the team acquired from the Celtics in exchange for Nikola Vucevic, suffered a left wrist sprain.
Simons will see a specialist and undergo imaging to determine the severity of the injury. He has been ruled out for the Bulls' home game against the New York Knicks on Sunday.

"So, I'll have a better idea where it's at. He's out right now, he's still pretty sore from it, but the extent of it, I'm not really quite sure yet."
Simons played 13 minutes in Saturday's loss to the Pistons before exiting the game. He finished with four points on 2-of-6 shooting and a pair of rebounds.
Since joining Chicago on Feb. 5, Simons has started five of the six games he's played in. The 26-year-old shooting guard averaged 17.4 points, 3.6 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game while shooting 44.6% overall and 32.7% from deep in his five complete outings.
Simons is set to hit unrestricted free agency in the summer, making it essential that the Bulls evaluate the talent they have in their new sharpshooter. He is currently making $27.6 million this season on the final part of a four-year contract, which he signed with the Portland Trail Blazers in 2022.
In addition to Simons, the Bulls will also be without Ivey in the backcourt on Sunday. With Josh Giddey and Tre Jones on minutes restrictions, Dillingham and Collin Sexton will likely see significant roles against the Knicks.
