Wake up, Chicago. The Bulls are adding to their front office again.

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Bulls are hiring Alex Kaufman and Jarrett Sutton. Kaufman will take on the role of general manager for the Windy City Bulls, while Sutton will join the organization in a scouting and intelligence capacity.

Bryson Graham has emphasized the importance of building a collaborative and cohesive staff. Kaufman and Sutton join a growing list of hires, which includes new senior vice president of basketball operations Stephen Mervis and vice president of player personnel Acie Law, both of whom were brought on last month.

Alex Kaufman: Windy City Bulls General Manager

Much like Graham, Kaufman has steadily advanced through the basketball ranks.

He began his career at the University of Texas, where he served as both a student manager and graduate assistant for the men’s basketball program. During his tenure, he developed his expertise in player development, team operations and scouting preparation, all while earning a bachelor's degree in sports management and a master's degree in physical education.

Kaufman’s NBA journey took him to Charlotte, where he served as a Basketball Operations Associate in 2018-2019. He then joined the New Orleans Pelicans in 2019 as a basketball operations and scouting assistant, where he would cross paths with Graham. One of Kaufman's key strengths is his ability to blend traditional scouting with modern evaluation techniques; a skill set that will be music to the ears of a fanbase that has seen its team be behind the times for way too much time.

Jarrett Sutton: Scouting & Intelligence

Sutton joins the Bulls as yet another hire coming over from New Orleans.

Like Law and Graham, he brings collegiate playing experience to the staff. From 2008 to 2012, Sutton competed for the University of Missouri men’s basketball program, making NCAA Tournament appearances each season. He established a reputation for his high basketball IQ, leadership and cerebral approach to the game.

After his collegiate playing career, Sutton built valuable front-office experience with several NBA organizations. He began with roles with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors before joining the New Orleans Pelicans, where he worked with Bryson Graham and developed a reputation as a meticulous evaluator of talent.

There seems to be a trend here.
