The Chicago Bulls made a pair of moves ahead of the 2026 NBA preseason.

The Chicago Bulls' training camp is underway and Executive VP of Basketball Operations Bryson Graham has been busy.

The Bulls made a pair of moves on Wednesday aimed at shuffling their roster ahead of the team's preseason opener against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at the United Center.

They waived an undrafted free agent from LSU who stood out during Summer League with the Sacramento Kings while also adding a former Phoenix Suns forward who played in eight games during the 2024-2025 season.

Forward Marquel Sutton Waived

The Bulls brought former LSU Tigers forward Marquel Sutton aboard earlier this week, but Sutton was released on Wednesday to make room for another roster addition.

Sutton, a 6-foot-7 forward, started all 32 games for the Tigers and was not drafted. He averaged 13.1 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game with LSU, including 45.7% shooting from the field in college.

He also performed well for the Kings' Summer League team, averaging 8.8 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game.

Jalen Bridges Added to Bulls Roster

Former Phoenix Suns forward Jalen Bridges was added to the roster after Sutton's release. Bridges, a 6-foot-7, 225 pound forward who played collegiately with West Virginia and Baylor, made his NBA debut in November 2024 and played in eight games during the 2024-25 season.

Bridges averaged 1.1 points per game and 0.5 rebounds per game during that eight-game stint, shooting 28.6% from the field.

Bridges started his college career in Morgantown, WV, before joining coach Scott Drew's Baylor Bears in 2022-2023. He averaged 9.4 points and 5.0 rebounds in four college seasons and made 1.3 out of 3.6 three-point attempts, good for a 37% clip, during his college days.

The new Bulls forward has proven he can knock down three-pointers at a high rate, now he will be tasked with proving it in new Bulls head coach Tiago Splitter's system.

Sutton will now be given a chance to stick with the Windy City Bulls, Chicago's G-League affiliate. He has a chance to earn a bonus worth up to $91,000 on top of his base salary if he spends at least 90 days with the team.

Bridges is expected to head to the Windy City Bulls and to be given a chance to earn the same bonus, according to a report from HoopsHype.

Jalen Bridges is not related to NBA veterans Mikal and Miles Bridges, and will now have a chance to carve out his own role in Bulls training camp.
