The Chicago Bulls' top five pick got a ringing endorsement from a five-time champion of a rival NBA franchise.

The Chicago Bulls selected former North Carolina Tar Heels star Caleb Wilson with the No. 4 overall pick and will get a chance to see him soon in Summer League action.

Wilson has just one season to show for his time in Chapel Hill and is regarded as a developmental prospect by some NBA onlookers.

The Bulls draft pick does not lack for confidence, however, recently declaring himself superior to number one overall pick AJ Dybantsa, formerly of BYU, and other top NBA Draft prospects.

On Monday, Wilson got a ringing endorsement from five-time NBA champion and former Bulls nemesis Derek Fisher, who believes he has a strong chance to help the Bulls win games this coming season.

Fisher: "He Can Really Do Everything"

Fisher believes wholeheartedly in Wilson's skills and potential based on his latest comments.

"Caleb Wilson could be the best player in the entire (draft)," Fisher said on 104.3 The Score out of Chicago.

"He can do everything, man. He can really do everything. Seriously, you could drop him onto any NBA team today, and he's going to help you win. Period," Fisher added.

Wilson's Stout Competition for ROTY

Wilson will face some of the fiercest competition for the NBA's Rookie of the Year award in many seasons with Dybantsa, former Kansas Jayhawks star Darryn Peterson, and former Duke Blue Devils star Cameron Boozer all expected to vie for the award.

Dark horse candidates include Kings guard Darius Acuff, Jr., formerly of the Arkansas Razorbacks, Warriors forward Yaxel Lendeborg, formerly of the Michigan Wolverines, and Nets guard Mikel Brown, Jr., formerly of the Louisville Cardinals.

Wilson opened fifth among all NBA rookies in FanDuel Sportsbook's opening Rookie of the Year odds, just behind Acuff, Jr. at +950 to win the award.

The Bulls power forward recently received good news as Chicago traded for shot swatter extraordinaire Nic Claxton, which should take the pressure off of him on the defensive end.

Wilson has all the makings of a bona fide star with the Bulls.

Fisher, a high school coach and broadcaster, knows talent when he sees it, and Wilson clearly checks all the boxes so far.
