The Chicago Bulls could reportedly be looking to add another Melbourne, Australia native to the roster.

The Chicago Bulls reportedly have interest in adding Jock Landale to their roster.

According to a report from Mike Scotto of HoopsHype, the Australian center has a solid market, with Chicago a part of that mix. Landale is coming off of the best season of his career. Over 2025-26, Landale averaged 10.6 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 1.7 APG and most importantly for his prospects in Chicago, he shot 38.3% from the 3-point line on 2.8 attempts per game from deep.

Landale, just like Bulls starting point guard Josh Giddey, is a native of Melbourne, Australia, and suited up for the Boomers at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

While he may not be a household name among casual NBA fans, Landale would be a great addition to a (currently) thin Chicago Bulls frontcourt. Landale is an intriguing player in the sense that he is not a great free throw shooter--63.5% from the FT line last season--despite the fact that he is a proficient floor spacer. But he brings toughness to the floor, routinely battling for boards and mixing it up in the paint.

In Chicago, Landale would likely slot in as a backup to the newly acquired Nic Claxton, with a decent chunk of his minutes likely coming next to No. 4 overall draft pick Caleb Wilson.

Only time will tell, but on paper, the free agent rumors and reports surrounding the Bulls seem to indicate that Bryson Graham plans to do something Arturas Karnisovas failed to do during his time as Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations: build a roster that accentuates the strengths of your core players.

If Graham is truly targeting players like Landale (a stretch-five) and shooting guard Norman Powell (career 39.6% 3-pt shooter), then it is clear that he is looking to provide new Chicago Bulls head coach Tiago Splitter with ample floor-spacers. This injection of 3-point shooting would provide plenty of space for Wilson, 15th overall pick Dailyn Swain, Giddey and Matas Buzelis to attack on offense.

The Claxton acquisition was great because it was an obvious buy-low situation, which in turn allows the Bulls to slightly overpay in the short-term for 3-pt shooting should they please. Claxton's addition to the current core gives the Bulls a chance to field an effective defensive unit right out of the gate. But if they truly want to catch the basketball world off guard next season, they need to balance out their roster with a center who can pull defenders out to the perimeter with their shooting ability.

There isn't--and never will be--and abundance of this specific archetype on the market, which is why players like Sandro Mamukelashvili (38.9% from 3-pt range last season) and the aforementioned Jock Landale will be hot commodities on a interesting center market.
