The Bulls are currently slated to have four draft picks this summer.

The NBA Draft Lottery will be held on May 10 and will determine whether the Bulls' top selection will rise into the top four or land between No. 9 and No. 13 overall. Until then, Chicago knows where three of its four draft picks will be.

On Monday afternoon, the NBA determined its tiebreakers for teams that finished with identical records. Six teams earned superior odds through a random drawing: the Jazz (22-60) over the Kings, the Pelicans (26-56) over the Mavericks, the Suns (45-37) over the Magic and 76ers, the Raptors (46-36) over the Hawks, the Rockets (52-30) over the Cavaliers and the Knicks (53-29) over the Lakers.

How does this affect the Chicago Bulls?

While the Bulls did not share a record with any other NBA teams, the drawing did determine where one of Chicago's second-round picks would be. The Pelicans' tiebreaker over the Mavericks gives New Orleans the No. 7 overall odds in the first round and gives Dallas the No. 8 overall odds in the first round.

The order remains based on the standings in the second round, except that teams that lost the tiebreaker move in front instead. That means that Dallas has the No. 37 overall pick in the second round, while New Orleans has No. 38.

However, neither of those teams owns those picks. The Mavericks' No. 37 overall selection belongs to Oklahoma City because of a trade that happened in 2020. Chicago owns New Orleans' pick because of a variety of complex conditions, but the bottom line is that the Bulls acquired that pick when they traded Nikola Vucevic to the Boston Celtics.

Five different NBA teams have possessed the Pelicans' 2026 second-round pick since 2021.

Which draft picks do the Chicago Bulls have?

Prior to the NBA Draft Lottery, the Bulls know where three of their four picks will land. Thanks to the Trail Blazers making the playoffs this season, Chicago finally receives Portland's first-round pick from the Lauri Markkanen trade in 2021. That selection will be No. 15 overall, just outside of the Lottery.

In addition to the No. 38 overall pick (via New Orleans), the Bulls will also be picking No. 56 overall. Chicago acquired that selection at the NBA Trade Deadline in exchange for sending Ayo Dosunmu to the Timberwolves. The Bulls also got Rob Dillingham, Leonard Miller and three more second-rounders in that deal.
