After spending last season with the Chicago Bulls, three-time Slam Dunk Contest champion Mac McClung is moving on from the NBA.

The 27-year-old guard has officially signed a contract with Basquet Girona in the Spanish ACB league, the team announced on Thursday. He will play at the highest level in Spain for a team that is owned and founded by former NBA star Marc Gasol.

Gasol — a three-time NBA All-Star from Barcelona — spent two seasons in Girona with Sant Josep before coming to the United States in 2008. After Sant Josep was dissolved in 2013, Gasol founded Basquet Girona a year later. He joined the team upon retiring from the NBA in 2021 and helped get the club promoted to Liga ACB.

Basquet Girona finished 12th of 18 teams in the league last season with a 14-20 record. McClung will aim to provide explosive scoring to a club that has struggled since Gasol retired from playing.

At the G League level, McClung starred. He became the developmental league's all-time scoring leader this past season amid a campaign where he averaged 31.8 points per game. McClung filled out the rest of his stat sheet with 7.9 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game on 51.5% shooting and 38.1% from deep for the Windy City Bulls.

For his play, McClung was named the G League Most Valuable Player for the second time in his career. He also won the honor in 2024.

However, McClung is best known for his dunking ability. In 2023, the Philadelphia 76ers called him up from their G League squad, the Delaware Blue Coats, and he won the Slam Dunk Contest days later. The following year, as a member of the Orlando Magic affiliate Osceola Magic, McClung defeated Celtics guard Jaylen Brown to become the first G League player to win the Slam Dunk Contest.

McClung went three-for-three in 2025 with four dunks that scored a perfect 50 points. He became the first player ever to win three consecutive Slam Dunk Contests and joined Nate Robinson as the only players to win three Dunk Contests at any point during their careers.

The Bulls signed McClung to a two-way contract in November 2025, shortly after he was waived by the Indiana Pacers.
