The Cleveland Cavaliers have a difficult stretch of games coming out of the NBA All-Star Break.

The NBA All-Star break is officially over as the Cleveland Cavaliers get back in action on Thursday night against the Denver Nuggets.

The Cavs went into the break after one of their longest winning streaks of the season. They rattled off six consecutive before falling to the 76ers right before the short hiatus. Cleveland needs to get right back to their winning ways immediately after the All-Star break. Although, this won't be easy.

Cleveland's next eight games look like this:

  • vs. Nuggets
  • @ Hawks
  • vs. Raptors
  • @ Celtics
  • vs. Pistons
  • vs. Celtics
  • @ Heat
  • @Heat

The first three games will take place over a four-game stretch.

Each of these teams (outside of Detroit) is either in playoff spots are in the hunt for one. That means it's going to be intense two-and-a-half weeks of playoff-like basketball that could either make or break the Cavs.

If Cleveland is successful during this stretch then they will be giving themselves a great shot at locking up the four seed. However, if the Cavs stumble they could be fighting to get back into the top six seeds and out of the Play-In Tournament.

The outcome is in their hands. It's time for the Cavs to show the NBA that they are a true contender and the best way to do this is to finish the stretch of games and the rest of the season strong.
