The Cleveland Cavaliers will honor Kevin Love with retiring his number 0.

Kevin Love's time with the Cleveland Cavaliers has officially come to an end. However, his legacy with the organization will forever be remembered as they have committed to retiring his number "0."

Following the announcement of Love's buyout, President of Basketball Operation Koby Altman had this to say.

“Kevin Love had an outstanding run with the Cavaliers, including memorable on-court moments, four NBA Finals appearances and an NBA Championship in 2016. Kevin represented the organization and the city of Cleveland with the utmost charm and professionalism during his nine seasons in Northeast Ohio. He also embodied everything a franchise would want in a player, and the admiration and gratitude we have for him will ultimately land his jersey in the rafters of Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. We thank Kevin for his impact and wish him nothing but the best, knowing that he has solidified his place in the hearts of Cavaliers fans and this organization forever.”

Love had been a member of the Cavs organization for nine seasons. Over that period he averaged 15.7 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists. He was also named an All-Star during 2014, 2017, and 2018 seasons.

Most importantly, Love will be remembered as one of the centerpieces on the 2016 Cavaliers team that defeated the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals and overcame a 3-1 deficit.

K-Love will be missed on the floor for the Cavaliers and the Cleveland community. Seeing his number in the rafters of Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse is more than deserving.
