Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell and Grammy winner Coco Jones were married Saturday in Greenwich, Connecticut, weeks after his $273 million extension.

Donovan Mitchell and Coco Jones were married Saturday. The ceremony was held in Greenwich, Connecticut. The Cleveland Cavaliers guard and the Grammy-winning singer shared their first dance to Musiq Soulchild's 2000 song "Love," in video posted to Instagram by sports agent Troy Payne.

Bam Adebayo, Josh Hart, Jalen Brunson, and Jaylen Brown were among the guests, along with Russell Wilson and Ciara. Brown filmed Brunson from across the dance floor in a clip that circulated on social media over the weekend.

Brunson was named Finals MVP in June, when the New York Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs in five games for the franchise's first championship since 1973. Brown was traded from Boston to Philadelphia on July 1. The Celtics received Paul George, two first-round picks, and two second-round picks.

Mitchell and Jones announced their engagement on July 11, 2025, when Jones posted a photograph of her ring to Instagram. Representatives for the couple told People the proposal came during a vacation. The two were first linked in September 2024, when they were photographed holding hands at an Usher concert in Las Vegas.

Three weeks before the wedding, Mitchell signed a four-year, $273 million maximum extension with Cleveland. He agreed to the deal July 7, the first day the Cavaliers could offer it, and the team announced the signing July 9. The extension includes a player option worth nearly $76 million for the 2030-31 season and a full trade kicker.

Its average annual value of just over $68 million is the highest in league history, ahead of the $67.9 million average on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's contract with Oklahoma City. In total value, Mitchell's deal ranks fourth. Boston gave Jayson Tatum $314 million and Brown $285 million, and Nikola Jokić has $276 million in Denver.

Last season Mitchell averaged 27.9 points and made the All-NBA second team. Cleveland finished 52-30 and fourth in the Eastern Conference, then beat the Toronto Raptors in seven games and the Detroit Pistons in seven before being swept by New York in the conference finals. It was the franchise's first trip to the conference finals since 2018.

Cleveland acquired Mitchell from the Utah Jazz in September 2022. Across four seasons with the Cavaliers, he has averaged 26.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.3 assists, and he has been an All-Star in each of them. He has made seven All-Star teams and three All-NBA teams in nine seasons.

Jones won a Grammy in 2024 for best R&B performance for "ICU." Her debut album, "Why Not More?," was nominated for best R&B album at the 68th annual Grammy Awards in February, her eighth career nomination. Leon Thomas III won the category for "MUTT." Jones performed "Lift Every Voice and Sing" before Super Bowl LX at Levi's Stadium on Feb. 8.
