Cleveland Cavaliers icon LeBron James remains one of the more interesting players in the NBA.
The Cleveland Cavaliers will be entering a crucial season in the NBA, with the team looking to get over the hump in the tough Eastern Conference now.
Cleveland reached the Eastern Conference Finals a year ago, but the team fell short, being swept in the process. But now, the Cavaliers have more confidence than they did last season, finally getting out of the second round.
This group believes that they can compete with any team in the NBA, especially after the additions made this offseason. Cleveland added more defensive help, with having their core group build more chemistry on the floor.
However, the East as a whole will be much more competitive this season, with multiple teams beefing up rosters this summer. The biggest team in this was the Philadelphia 76ers, who added both LeBron James and Jaylen Brown to the mix.
Philadelphia beat out the Cavaliers in the pursuit of James, giving themselves a legitimate chance to win the title. Cleveland badly wanted to bring James back to town for the final few years of his NBA career, but it wasn't meant to be.
James, who will be entering his 24th season in the NBA, gives the 76ers more credibility this season, and the Cavaliers will now have to deal with going against him. The Cleveland legend remains a top player in the league, even at his advanced age.
In fact, James was named the most fascinating player entering the 2026-27 NBA season by analyst Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report. The former Cavaliers star still has a hold on the league unlike anything we have ever seen, and all eyes will be on the 76ers this season.
Cleveland will have to figure out how to deal with the 76ers this season, matching up against the loaded depth that Philadelphia has. James only adds to this, and he is being considered as the fourth option for this team, which should scare the rest of the NBA if they can figure it out on the court.
This Cavaliers roster also has strong depth and a front-court that could cause problems for any team in the league. Cleveland believes in themselves, no matter who they will be matched up against, and this roster can do some damage going forward.
While the Cavaliers would have enjoyed having James back on the team, it wasn't meant to be, and now they will have to take down their franchise icon in the process. The Cavaliers season will begin against James and the 76ers on October 22 on the road, giving them a chance to make an early-season statement.
