The Cleveland Cavaliers have landed in the NBA's countdown of the top-10 plays from the 2025-26 season.
The 2025-26 season was a good one for the Cleveland Cavaliers, as the team finally got out of the second round of the playoffs.
While the Cavaliers were swept in the Eastern Conference Finals, the team saw some growth on the court. This could help them moving forward, and the roster looks much stronger coming into the new NBA season this year.
But before the new year starts, the league has been counting down the top-100 plays from the 2025-26 NBA season. The NBA is now down to the top-10, with the Cavaliers coming in at No. 10.
The play involves former Cavaliers forward De'Andre Hunter putting on the moves against the Chicago Bulls before finishing with a slam dunk. Hunter broke Bulls guard Josh Giddey's ankles on the crossover, showing his own ball-handling skills.
Cleveland traded Hunter to the Sacramento Kings at the deadline last season, in an attempt to improve the roster. Ironically enough, the trade was a three-team deal, involving the Bulls.
But Hunter is still with the Kings, looking to help Sacramento get back on track. Hunter was the big trade deadline acquisition for the Cavaliers during the 2024-25 season, with Cleveland believing he could elevate this unit.
Hunter played 27 games with the Cavaliers after the trade, averaging 14.3 points, 4.2. rebounds, and 1.3 assists, while shooting 42.6 percent from beyond the three-point line. Cleveland was then bounced out in the second round of the playoffs by the Indiana Pacers.
This past season, Hunter played in 43 games, seeing his numbers decline before being shipped out of Cleveland. The forward averaged 14.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game, while shooting just 30.8 percent from deep.
While Hunter's time with the Cavaliers was short, having the team land in the top-ten of plays from the season is a cool feat. Hunter was part of the Cavaliers' story, and he did help them get into the playoffs.
The Cavaliers replaced Hunter heading into this season, adding star defensive wing Peyton Watson on a massive four-year, $88 million contract. Watson should provide similar production to Cleveland, while giving the team stronger defense on the wing.
Cleveland will be looking to make more special highlights coming into the current NBA season, with the goal of winning a title. The Cavaliers have the roster to win it all, but this group, led by star guard Donovan Mitchell, will need to prove itself once again.
