Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell is not happy with Colin Cowherd.

After the Boston Celtics shocked the sports world by trading Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers, Colin Cowherd said something that made Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell upset.

Check it out:

Mitchell and Brown are very close friends, so it's not surprising to see Mitchell stick up for Brown, who was traded despite never requesting a trade from the Celtics.

The Cavaliers will now have to deal with the 76ers next season, and that is going to be a tough matchup. Philadelphia has Brown, Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid and VJ Edgecombe as its "Big 4."

To make matters worse, the 76ers have reached out to LeBron James and are interested in signing the NBA legend. LeBron, who will not re-sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, has been linked to the 76ers, Cavaliers, Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets.

Mitchell needs to talk to LeBron this summer and convince King James to come home. A starting lineup of Harden, Mitchell, LeBron, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen can compete for a championship.

Starting on July 7, Mitchell can sign an extension with the Cavaliers that adds four years and $277 million to his current deal. Adding four seasons would require Mitchell to decline his player option for the 2027-28 season.

Next season is Mitchell's 10th in the NBA. If the former Utah Jazz guard waits until next summer for a new contract, the Cavaliers can sign him to a five-year, roughly $352 million deal.

Mitchell will make $50,105,628 next season. He put up 27.9 points per game for the Cavaliers last season and guided Cleveland to the conference finals for the first time since 1992 without LeBron on the roster.

However, the New York Knicks swept the Cavaliers in the conference finals.

It will be fascinating to see what happens between Mitchell and the Cavaliers this offseason. Is Mitchell going to agree to an extension with a team that just got swept in the East Finals and went 8-10 in the playoffs overall? Are the Cavaliers comfortable paying Mitchell this massive sum of money if they aren't sure if he can be a true No. 1 option on a championship team? These are the questions that Mitchell and the Cavaliers will be thinking about this summer.

For what it's worth, Mitchell wrote in his diary for Andscape after the conference finals that he wants to spend the rest of his NBA career with the Cavaliers.

"I feel like this [contract extension talk] has been a consistent theme every single season I've been here. And I thought it would go away once I signed the first extension, but here we are. I said it [Monday night]: I love it here. I see growth. I see a runway. I believe. I've made Cleveland home outside of just basketball. I don't want to go. I don't really know how else to blatantly say it to people for them to believe me.

"If they don't believe me, then hey, who cares? I don't care. The organization knows and everybody in the building knows and feels the way I feel. I've been saying this since I first got to Cleveland. I was called [out], Oh, he’s lying. I was about to sign my extension three years ago, Oh, he's lying. Signed it. They're like, Oh, [he's] not signing the long term. Whatever. There's always going to be something, I guess. So, Cleveland, you know how I feel. This is just for everybody else."
