This is pretty impressive by Cleveland Cavaliers star Evan Mobley.
Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star Evan Mobley missed 17 games this season, but he still led the NBA in a unique stat.
Mobley led the league in total dunks.
Mobley, who won the Defensive Player of the Year Award last season, appeared in 65 games for the Cavaliers this season. He averaged 18.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.7 blocks per game while shooting 54.6% from the field, 29.7% from beyond the arc and 60.6% from the free-throw line.
The Cavaliers face the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the 2026 playoffs. Cleveland is under tremendous pressure to have a successful 2026 playoffs. Why? Because according to Joe Vardon of The Athletic, the general feeling is that the Cavaliers have to reach the Eastern Conference Finals this year to avoid a substantial shakeup.
The Cavaliers haven't advanced past the second round of the playoffs since 2018. Mobley has reached the conference finals. Neither has Donovan Mitchell nor Jarrett Allen.
Mitchell is eligible to sign an extension with Cleveland this offseason, while James Harden has a player option for next season that he's expected to decline to enter free agency. If the Cavaliers don't perform well in the 2026 playoffs, there is a scenario where Mitchell doesn't sign an extension and becomes a trade candidate and Harden leaves the team in free agency.
Cleveland had the best record in the East last season but lost to the Indiana Pacers in five games in the second round of the playoffs. Many people who cover the NBA believe the Cavaliers' front office could blow up the roster this offseason if the 2026 playoffs aren't kind to Kenny Atkinson's group.
Mobley has to play like a superstar in the 2026 playoffs for the Wine and Gold to be successful. Let's see how the USC product performs.
