Dean Wade and Jaylon Tyson won't be with the Cleveland Cavaliers as they depart on a three-game road trip.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are the healthiest they’ve been all season long, especially after Jarrett Allen returned to the floor on Friday following a month-long knee injury. Still, the Cavaliers have a couple of players sidelined with ailments.

Cleveland provided an update on both Dean Wade and Jaylon Tyson on Sunday morning before the team departed for its West Coast road trip.

The team shared that, “Cleveland Cavaliers forwards Jaylon Tyson (left great toe bone bruise) and Dean Wade (right ankle sprain) will be OUT for the team's upcoming three-game road trip to Utah, L.A. Lakers and Golden State. Both players will remain in Cleveland for treatment and rehabilitation. Updates on their return to play will be provided as appropriate.”

Instead of joining the team on the road trip, the duo will stay in Cleveland to continue their rehab as the postseason quickly approaches.

Tyson has only played in two of Cleveland’s last seven games and has missed the last four with the toe injury. Even in one of the games Tyson did play, and even started in, he wasn’t able to finish the second half because of the pain.

The sophomore forward has been one of Cleveland’s biggest bright spots all season long. He’s averaging 9.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists a game while shooting 48 percent from the floor and 43 percent from behind the arc.

Even though Tyson’s role has diminished since the Cavaliers acquired multiple players at the trade deadline, his energy, versatility, and defensive presence could be an x-factor for Cleveland in the playoffs.

That said, time is running out for Tyson to get back on the floor and find his rhythm and find a spot in Cleveland's playoff rotation.

As for Wade, his ankle injury occurred during warmups for Cleveland’s game against the Miami Heat on Wednesday. The Cavaliers held the forward out as a precaution for that game, but it appears that the injury may be more serious than initially thought, with Wade missing the next three games.

As it stands, the Cavaliers only have eight regular season games, and time was already not on their side to get everyone on the same page before the playoffs. Hopefully, Wade and Tyson can get back on the floor to mesh with the rotation before the postseason begins.
