Donovan Mitchell, James Harden, and Evan Mobley have dominated the Toronto Raptors, propelling the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 2-0 series lead in the NBA playoffs.
Following the Cleveland Cavaliers' 115-105 victory in Game 2 of their NBA playoff series with the Toronto Raptors, Spencer German and Spencer Davies dove into the details on the latest episode of Courtside with Cavs.
The Cleveland Cavaliers took a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Toronto Raptors on Monday night, as Donovan Mitchell, James Harden, and Evan Mobley combined for a whopping 83 points, 20 rebounds, and 11 assists in Game 2. They had to fend off a never-say-die Toronto squad for the entirety of the game, but ultimately triumphed.
Spencer German and Spencer Davies broke down the intricacies of the second matchup at Rocket Arena and what to expect in the next couple of meetings at Scotiabank Arena up north.
Topics of the latest show include the following:
- The trio of Mitchell, Harden, and Mobley was outstanding for the Cavs. To provide that level of production on the same night with as little time as they've had together is a testament to what this team is capable of in the postseason when the team is whole.
- Mitchell continues to dazzle as a shot-making extraordinare, not only dropping 30 points but doing so at the end of the clock, in clutch moments, and playing the role of backbreaker against the Raptors. In the first two games of this series, he's been sensational in the paint and beyond the arc.
- In his Cleveland playoff debut and the follow-up, Harden is proving how valuable and effective he is with his poise and recognition. He's made the Wine and Gold's bigs better, he's taken a load off Mitchell's shoulders, and he's picked his spots nearly flawlessly. In addition, the Beard has shown a commitment and cerebral nature on the defensive side of the ball.
- Mobley continues to play his best basketball at the perfect time for the Cavs. He faced more of a switch-heavy scheme in Game 2 and knew when to take advantage of the matchups down low. It's been a "calm confidence" for him, as Jarrett Allen termed it at practice.
- In each of their press conferences, the Cavs' stars went out of their way to show appreciation for the job that Dean Wade has done on Brandon Ingram and how he's opened things up offensively. It's a thankless job to have, but Wade has taken it in stride and should take pride in how well he's performed for the squad.
- The series is heading back to Toronto for Game 3 on Thursday night. What can both teams take away from Monday that might show up at Scotiabank Arena?
