Just like that, the Cleveland Cavaliers' season ended on Monday night, and it was not pretty. The New York Knicks decimated them in Game 4 by a final score of 130-93, earning a trip to the NBA Finals, as they await the winner between the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs.
The Cavs, on the other hand, took a step in the right direction, but the way the 2025-26 campaign came to an end could not have been worse. New York fans infiltrated Rocket Arena and egged on its team to a blowout victory, while Cleveland left early and disappointed.

- The Cavs were completely outplayed in their four games against the Knicks. New York deserves all the credit in the world for being on a heater and finding its groove with a collective approach. With that said, Cleveland didn't control the controllables, and that is a key reason why the results didn't turn out in the group's favor.
- Was the season a success? Though it is easy to get caught up in the moment, the fact is that the Cavs reached the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2018, and without LeBron, you'd have to go back to 1992. Being one of the final four franchises left standing is an accomplishment any way you swing it, even if the year ended on a sour note.
- Both James Harden and Donovan Mitchell deserve blame for why Cleveland didn't achieve its fullest potential on this postseason run. At the same time, the team wouldn't have gotten to the position it got to without either.
