Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen was among the top players in the NBA entering the season.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have one of the better cores in the NBA, and it has allowed the team to find all sorts of success over the years.

Cleveland has built its roster around star guard Donovan Mitchell, surrounding him with multiple other stars who can help him out. The Cavaliers have the talent to match up with any team in the NBA, and this team is entering the year with a lot of confidence.

After reaching the Eastern Conference Finals last season, Cleveland will be trying to get back to the same place. But this time, the Cavaliers want to keep pushing to make the NBA Finals.

With players like James Harden, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen around Mitchell, the Cavaliers do have a solid chance to go on a title run. But this group will be judged by how they perform in the playoffs.

Cleveland has the roster of a title-contending team, but they will have to earn their keep this season in the East. If this team can play up to its potential, the Cavaliers could be putting together another solid year.

Multiple members of the Cavaliers were ranked in a top-99 players list from Bleacher Report heading into the season. Coming in at No. 64 on the list was Allen, who will be looking to have a big year for the Cavaliers this season.

Allen put together a strong postseason for the Cavaliers a year ago, and he will be trying to build on that success. In two Game 7s for Cleveland last season, Allen averaged 22.5 points, 13.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and 2.0 blocks.

His performance in the two games helped the Cavaliers reach the conference finals, giving them a boost. Allen increased his numbers from the regular season when the lights were brightest, which is a good sign for the Cavaliers going forward.

The big man played in 56 games last season, averaging 15.4 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.8 blocks per contest for Cleveland. If Allen can put up similar numbers again during the regular season, the Cavaliers could be in good shape.

Allen gives the Cavaliers a legitimate front court duo with Mobley, which isn't something that every team in the league has. The two big man help Cleveland man the paint, while being able to grab big rebounds.

Cleveland will open its new NBA season on Oct. 22 against the Philadelphia 76ers.
