LeBron James has broken Cleveland's hearts again.

LeBron James told reporters after the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Cleveland Cavaliers that he thought about signing with the Cavaliers this offseason.

“The nature of the meeting, I probably won’t discuss much,” James said. “But it was in consideration for sure. I mean, obviously as a team trying to build towards a championship and things of that nature, I was trying to decide where I wanted to go with the rest of my career, to finish my career or the next step. So they had a lot of consideration for sure.”

LeBron is the best player in Cleveland history. He's also arguably the top player of all time.

LeBron is first in NBA history in points, field goals, games and minutes. He’s the only player to rank top five all-time in points and assists, the only player to win three Finals MVPs with three teams, the only player with 40,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 10,000 career assists and the only player to score 50,000 points combining the regular season and playoffs.

LeBron led the Cavaliers to the 2016 championship against the 73-9 Golden State Warriors. The 2015-16 Cleveland squad is the only team in NBA history to erase a 3-1 series deficit in the NBA Finals.

It would have been fun to see LeBron come home again, but King James signed a two-year, $8 million deal to play with Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown and Joel Embiid in Philadelphia. For one night, it looked like the right move.

The Cavaliers were up by 29 points against the 76ers. Philadelphia fans were booing James and Co. and it appeared Cleveland would begin this season 1-0.

However, the 76ers erased the huge deficit and won by a final score of 114-106. It was an embarrassing loss for Cleveland.

The 76ers outscored the Cavaliers 37-21 in the third quarter and 32-16 in the fourth quarter.

James, 41, is averaging 15.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game this season. The 76ers beat the New York Knicks on opening night.

The Cavaliers host the 76ers on November 6. It will be interesting to see how Cleveland fans react to James' return after his latest comments.

Up next for Cleveland is a matchup against the Brooklyn Nets at home. The Cavaliers must win that game, as starting the season 0-2 would be a disaster.
