An NBA trade proposal sending three players to the Cleveland Cavaliers has been created.
NBA writer Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report created the following trade proposal between the Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns:
Cavaliers get: Royce O'Neale, Ryan Dunn, Nick Richards
Warriors get: De'Andre Hunter
Suns get: Jonathan Kuminga, Trayce Jackson-Davis
Kuminga has demanded a trade from the Warriors, which is why Swartz created this NBA trade proposal.
The Cavaliers get O'Neale, Dunn and Richards from the Suns in this NBA trade proposal. O'Neale and Donovan Mitchell were teammates on the Utah Jazz and are close friends.
O'Neale is averaging 10.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game this season while shooting 42.9% from the field, 41.6% from beyond the arc and 63.2% from the free-throw line. He's making $10.1 million.
Dunn is averaging 6.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game while shooting 45.2% from the field, 31.9% from beyond the arc and 69.2% from the free-throw line. He's making $2.7 million.
Finally, Richards is averaging 3.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per game while shooting 49.3% from the field and 67.9% from the free-throw line. He's making $5 million in the final year of his contract.
This trade would save the Cavaliers $5.5 million immediately and another $11.3 million next season, eliminating over half their second apron money ($20.9 million) for next season, per Swartz.
Cleveland has the most expensive roster in the NBA right now. They are the only team above the second apron.
The Cavaliers had the best record in the East last season. They swept the Miami Heat in the first round of the 2025 playoffs but lost to the Indiana Pacers in the second round in five quick games.
Cleveland hasn't advanced past the second round of the playoffs with Mitchell, Evan Mobley, Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen leading the way. That has to change this season. Otherwise, Koby Altman may make some big changes to the roster this offseason.
It will be interesting to see if Altman makes any trades this season. The 2026 NBA trade deadline is next month.
