The Cleveland Cavaliers could trade for a future Hall of Famer.

According to NBA insider Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, the Cleveland Cavaliers could trade for an 11-time All-Star.

Mannix reports that the Cavaliers could trade Darius Garland to the Los Angeles Clippers for James Harden.

Garland is making $39.4 million this season, while Harden is making 39.2 million. The 2018 MVP with the Houston Rockets has a player option worth $42.3 million for next season.

Harden and the Clippers are working through whether the sides can find a deal by Thursday's NBA trade deadline, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN. Harden has been with the Clippers since 2023.

Meanwhile, Garland has spent his entire NBA career with the Cavaliers. He was the fifth overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

The Cavaliers already made one big trade this season. They traded De'Andre Hunter to the Sacramento Kings for Keon Ellis and Dennis Schroder.

Cleveland is in fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Wine and Gold had the best record in the East last season, but they lost to the Indiana Pacers in the second round of the playoffs in five games.

The Cavaliers haven't advanced past the second round of the playoffs with Garland, Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen leading the way. It's time for a change.

A backcourt of Mitchell and Harden would be explosive offensively. Mitchell is averaging 28.8 points per game this season, while Harden is putting up 25.4 points per game.
