The Cleveland Cavaliers are being really aggressive.

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Cleveland Cavaliers are pursuing LeBron James and Jonathan Kuminga.

The Cavaliers may have to trade Max Strus and/or Dennis Schroder to get James and/or Kuminga.

"Furthermore, while LeBron James remains atop their wish list, the Cavaliers have continued to keep tabs on Kuminga consistently," Scotto wrote. "Amid Cleveland’s pursuit of both players, Max Strus and Dennis Schroder have come up as potential trade candidates."

LeBron and Kuminga are unrestricted free agents. Kuminga played for the Golden State Warriors and Atlanta Hawks last season, while LeBron played for the Los Angeles Lakers.

James Harden is waiting to re-sign with the Cavaliers. The Beard will sign his new deal with Cleveland once the LeBron and Kuminga situations are handled.

The Cavaliers made the Eastern Conference Finals last season for the first time since 1992 without LeBron on the roster. The New York Knicks, who won the 2026 championship against the San Antonio Spurs, swept Cleveland in the conference finals.

For the Lakers last season, LeBron averaged 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game. He's still an elite offensive player despite being the oldest active player in the NBA.

Meanwhile, in 16 regular-season games for the Hawks last season, Kuminga averaged 12.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.

LeBron has been linked to the Cavaliers, Warriors, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers, while Kuminga has been connected to the Cavaliers, Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks.

LeBron, as everyone knows, is the greatest player in Cleveland franchise history. In two stints (2003-10, 2014-18) with the Cavaliers, LeBron averaged 27.2 points, 7.3 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.8 blocks per game. He won two MVPs and one Finals MVP and made 10 All-Star and 10 All-NBA teams.

If Harden signs for $30 million and if Cleveland can deal Strus and take back no salary in return, the Cavaliers would be able to give LeBron the mid-level exception.

It will be interesting to see where LeBron and Kuminga are playing next season. The Cavaliers want LeBron, but they are keeping tabs on Kuminga in case King James goes to Miami, Golden State or Philadelphia.
