This would be amazing.
According to Emmett Golden of ESPN Cleveland, LeBron and Bronny James will join the Cleveland Cavaliers this summer.
LeBron is expected to sign with the Cavaliers, who will then acquire Bronny from the Los Angeles Lakers, per Golden.
Bronny will make $2,296,271 next season. The Lakers guaranteed his 2026-27 salary on June 29.
The Philadelphia 76ers, Denver Nuggets, Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves want to sign LeBron, who is an unrestricted free agent for the first time since the summer of 2018. That's the summer LeBron left the Cavaliers for the Lakers.
LeBron and Bronny's agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group, has been handling LeBron's free agency thus far. LeBron has been enjoying his summer playing a lot of golf, while Paul has been talking to the teams interested in signing King James.
As we all know, LeBron is the greatest player in Cleveland franchise history. In two stints (2003-10, 2014-18) with the Cavaliers, LeBron averaged 27.2 points, 7.3 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.8 blocks per game. He won two MVPs and one Finals MVP and made 10 All-Star and 10 All-NBA teams.
The Cavaliers defeated the 73-9 Warriors in the 2016 NBA Finals. LeBron and Co. are the only team in NBA history to erase a 3-1 series deficit in the NBA Finals.
LeBron averaged 29.7 points, 11.3 rebounds, 8.9 assists, 2.6 steals and 2.3 blocks per game in the 2016 NBA Finals. He was named Finals MVP.
Arguably the best player in NBA history, LeBron is a four-time MVP, four-time champion and four-time Finals MVP. He is the NBA's all-time leader in points, field goals, games, minutes and wins.
For the Lakers last season, LeBron averaged 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game. He's still an elite offensive player despite being the oldest active player in the NBA.
It would certainly be cool to see LeBron end his career in Cleveland with Bronny. A starting lineup of James Harden, Donovan Mitchell, LeBron, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen could compete for the championship next season.
The Cavaliers made the conference finals last season. Adding LeBron could make them title favorites next season.
According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Mitchell "would embrace" LeBron signing with the Cavaliers. Buckle up, Cleveland. This could be an exciting summer.
