This is huge news for Cleveland Cavaliers fans.

The 2026 NBA trade deadline is February 5 at 3 p.m. ET. It's always an exciting time for basketball fans, as you never know what could happen at the deadline.

After all, last season, we saw the Dallas Mavericks trade Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis.

While there could be another blockbuster trade this season, don't expect one from the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com

"The Cavs have received offers for swingman De'Andre Hunter — last year's deadline prize who is in the midst of one of the worst statistical seasons of his career and keeps trying to adapt to a midseason role change," Fedor wrote. "There remains strong interest in free-agent-to-be Dean Wade. Opposing teams have also been wondering if Cleveland has any appetite for breaking up the Core 4 — Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen.

"To this point, Cavs decision-makers have made it clear they aren't interested in a drastic shake-up. They still think highly of this group and see a pathway back to the top of the wide-open Eastern Conference. They also want to evaluate this roster closer to full strength, believing their prospective rotation — with Garland getting closer to returning from a minor toe injury, the emergence of second-year forward Jaylon Tyson and Max Strus' eventual comeback from offseason foot surgery — stacks up with anyone in the East."

The Cavaliers have the most expensive roster in the NBA. They are the only team above the second apron. Owner Dan Gilbert is paying a lot of money for this squad, but Cleveland didn't start the season well.

The good news is that the NBA has 82 games in the regular season, allowing teams time to find their groove. That's exactly what the Cavaliers have done. They are 7-3 over their last 10 games and have improved to 28-20.

Cleveland had the top record in the East last season. Slowly but surely, the Wine and Gold are starting to play like an elite team again. That has to make Gilbert and president of basketball operations Koby Altman happy.

The Cavaliers haven't advanced past the second round of the playoffs with Mitchell, Mobley, Garland and Allen leading the way. If that doesn't change this year, then we might see a trade occur in the offseason.
