NBA teams want to know if the Cleveland Cavaliers will shake things up.

According to NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, teams are trying to trade for Cleveland Cavaliers stars Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen.

As expected, the Cavaliers have rejected those trade calls.

"Amid an underwhelming start to the season for the Cleveland Cavaliers, rival executives have poked around to see if the franchise would consider trading Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen, and even shooting their shot for All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell, which the Cavaliers have rebuffed to this point, league sources told HoopsHype," Scotto wrote. "With max contracts being paid to Mitchell and Evan Mobley and the Cavaliers above the second apron, rival executives will continue to gauge Cleveland’s appetite for the possibility of changes – particularly on Garland and Allen – if the team continues to underperform due to the roster’s salary books.

"The backcourt pairing of Mitchell and Garland has always been under the microscope of NBA executives across the league. For teams interested in starting-caliber centers, Allen has always been on their radar. With that said, the current belief among NBA executives is that the possibility of a Garland or Allen trade is more likely in the offseason if it’s going to happen at all."

Mitchell is making $46.4 million this season, Garland is making $39.4 million and Allen is making $20 million.

The Cavaliers are only 21-17 on the season. They are in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings after having the top record in the conference last season.

Cleveland hasn't advanced past the second round of the playoffs with Mitchell, Mobley, Garland and Allen leading the way. The Wine and Gold swept the Miami Heat in the first round of the 2025 playoffs, but they lost to the Indiana Pacers in the conference semifinals in five games.

Most people around the NBA believe Cavaliers president of basketball operations Koby Altman will make some tweaks to the roster in the offseason if the team falters in the 2026 playoffs.
