The Washington Wizards are interested in making a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

According to NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Washington Wizards are interested in making a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers

The Wizards are showing interest in Cavaliers guard Lonzo Ball.

"The Washington Wizards are among the teams that have checked in on Ball, HoopsHype has learned," Scotto wrote. "The Wizards have been open to being incentivized with draft pick compensation to use their nearly $30 million in luxury tax room space and traded player exceptions for teams needing to dump salary, league sources told HoopsHype."

The Cavaliers acquired Ball from the Chicago Bulls last offseason. Ball is making $10 million this season. He has a team option worth $10 million for next season.

A UCLA product, Ball has struggled this season. He's averaging 4.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game while shooting 29.9% from the field, 26.9% from beyond the arc and 66.7% from the free-throw line.

The Wizards already made one big trade this season. They acquired Trae Young from the Atlanta Hawks for CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert.

It will be interesting to see if the Cavaliers part ways with Ball at the 2026 NBA trade deadline. Ball doesn't have a no-trade clause in his contract. He's played for the Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans, Bulls and Cavaliers.
