The Cleveland Cavaliers will appear in the NBA Playoffs for the first time in almost five years. One of the main reasons that the team has made it back is due to the leadership and experience that Donovan Mitchell brought over from his five seasons with the Utah Jazz when he was traded to Cleveland before the season started.
Mitchell has never missed the playoffs meaning that he has a ton of experience to share with the younger members of the team who will be playing in their first best-of-seven postseason series.
This is what Spida said after the team officially clinched a spot in the playoffs:
Mitchell's comments put everything in a great perspective for what the Cavs have accomplished this season, but still recognizing the main goal isn't completed.
Of course, making it to the playoffs with LeBron James for the first time since 1998 is a major accomplishment, but that's not where Cleveland wants this story to end. They want to make a major playoff push and Mitchell will have to continue to be a strong leader for this to happen.
