Morant is on the injury report with 'ankle soreness,' and is listed as questionable.

The Boston Celtics may miss out on playing against dynamic guard Ja Morant on Wednesday night, as the Memphis Grizzlies star is listed as questionable with ankle soreness.

The Celtics (5-7), are coming off a tough 102-100 loss against the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night. Memphis is 4-8 right now. The game will be at home at 7:30 p.m. ET.

About Ja Morant

The former No. 2 overall pick in the draft (2019), Morant is averaging 18.9 ppg this season (11 games). He's shooting 35.2 percent from the floor but a very inefficient 16.7 percent from three. He has continued to be a playmaker with the ball in his hand, averaging 8.1 assists per contest.

He's a two-time All-Star, a Rookie of the Year winner and a previous All-NBA selection.

In addition to his ankle soreness, Morant is also at odds with the organization, having served a one-game suspension earlier this season. According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, he doesn't seem to like the playing style of new head coach Tuomas Iisalo:

Morant, whose shooting percentages are at career-worst levels, seems to still be in the skeptical camp. That is believed to be a core issue in the player and coach's locker room back-and-forth that preceded Sunday's suspension.

Morant could be traded if the Grizzlies, and his attitude, don't improve.

Up next

After this game, the Celtics will have a few days off, next playing at home on Sunday afternoon against the Los Angeles Clippers. They'll then play back-to-back games against the Brooklyn Nets (Nov. 18 and 21).
