The Celtics fell to 5-2 with a disappointing loss against Houston.
The Boston Celtics saw their five-game winning streak come to an end on Monday night as they fell 109-93 against the Houston Rockets in Houston.
With the loss, the Celtics are now 5-2. The Rockets, one of the best teams in the NBA so far, are now 7-1.
Here's what you need to know from this loss.
No Paul George, yes a problem
I've been telling you for weeks that my biggest fear is that the Celtics will not play well when Paul George is unavailable, and that my worry is that he won't be available enough.
Well, with George out because of rest, the Celtics scored just 93 points. Jayson Tatum's production was down to just 19 points and Boston only had two other players in double-figures.
They missed George's scoring ability, and they missed this defensive ability. He's certain to miss more games this season. The Celtics will need an answer for it.
What's going on with Payton Pritchard?
Yes, Pritchard has had a few games where he excelled, but he's also had a few games where he's really struggled. If this team is going to play win without George, they are going to need Pritchard to be better, and he was very poor in this one. He scored just four points on 0-for-7 shooting and was 0-5 from 3-point range. He had three assists and three rebounds, but that's not enough production from a former Sixth Man of the Year winner.

Queta earned the start while Mitchell Robinson came off the bench, and Queta played well, scoring 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting. We've said that that the big men needed to do more, and that was the case in this game. Queta had 16, Luka Garza had 14, and Robinson had four. The trio went for 34 points and 13 rebounds. That will play for sure.
Boston still struggles from three
It wasn't just Pritchard: It was the whole team. The Celtics went 12-of-42 from 3-point range (29 percent). But they did finally win the rebounding battle for just the second time in seven games.
Up next
The Celtics are back in action on Wednesday night at home against the new-look Milwaukee Bucks. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Milwaukee, who re-worked its roster in the offseason, is just 1-6 so far. They've lost all three of their road games, which this game is.
