Joe Mazzulla and the Celtics are looking to close out the 76ers on Thursday night.

After a disappointing showing in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference playoffs on Tuesday, the Boston Celtics will get another chance to close out the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night (7 p.m. ET) in Philadelphia.

The Celtics lead the series 3-2 and are looking to beat their rivals for the seventh consecutive playoff series. Boston is 15-7 all-time against the 76ers in playoff series.

When asked what message he had for his team ahead of Game 6, Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla said the following (via @CLNSCeltics):

"Have an understanding, perspective. You know it wasn't all bad. We played solid basketball and let's focus on the stuff that we have to get better and be more consistent in those things headed back to Philly."

That's certainly a very positive way to look at it. Of course, not all losses are exclusively bad. The Celtics did do some solid things, but there are plenty of things to clean up if they want to advance back to the Eastern Conference semifinals.

For starters, the Celtics were outscored by 22 points in the second half and 17 points in the fourth quarter. The 76ers won the final stanza 28-11, which is a massive letdown considering Boston led by seven points at the end of the first half.

Beyond that, the Celtics shot poorly from three-point range, similarly to how they did in Game 2. They were just 11-of-39 (28 percent) from three and only 40 percent from the floor. They were also only 14-of-23 (61 percent) at the foul line, proving it was a bad shooting night across the board.

In that vein, Payton Pritchard scored only 12 points off the bench after 32 in Game 4 and Derrick White had only six as his shooting woes continue.

On the positive side of things, Jayson Tatum had 24 points while Jaylen Brown had 22. The Celtics also out-rebounded the 76ers again.

Things to think about

--Quentin Grimes had 18 points off the bench for the 76ers, so the Celtics will hope to limit him in Game 6. Joel Embiid also had 31, and while he's a factor in each game he plays, Boston will hope to make life harder for both him and Tyrese Maxey.

Broadcast information

In addition to the 8 p.m. ET start time, the game will air on NBC Sports Network and Peacock.
