The Celtics moved to 5-1 on the young season with a win on Sunday.
The Boston Celtics stayed hot in the early season with a 108-97 win over the Orlando Magic on Sunday afternoon in Orlando.
With the win, the Celtics are now out to a 5-1 start this season. They've won five straight games since a season-opening loss in Detroit against the Pistons.
The Magic, who are battling injuries in multiple spots, are now 2-4.
Here's what you need to know about the victory for Boston.
Mitchell Robinson sits...
With a back-to-back coming on Monday night against the Houston Rockets in Houston, Robinson stayed out of this game, marking the first time a Celtics rotational player has not not played this season.
Robinson, signed to a three-year deal in the offseason, is still working to find his full impact for Boston, but he should play a big role against a very talented Houston team.
Inside the box score
--Once again, Jayson Tatum led the way for Boston, scoring 32 points on 8-of-19 shooting. Though he continues to struggle from 3-point range, Tatum has made a living at the foul line lately, going 15-of-17 from the charity stripe. He also had four rebounds and seven assists. He had two blocks and four turnovers.
--Four other Celtics were in double-figures, including Paul George (17), Derrick White (12), Luke Garza (12) and Baylor Scheierman (10).
Boston Celtics forward Paul George (13) sets up to shoot against Orlando Magic guard Jase Richardson (11) during the second quarter at Kia Center. Mike Watters-Imagn Images--For the fifth time in six games, Boston lost the rebounding battle (43-41). We covered the problems on the glass recently, and it remains an issue despite the team's wins.
--As a whole, Boston shot just 27 percent from 3-point range (12-of-44). The defense has certainly helped them pick up the slack, but the team will have to continue to find its stroke from beyond the arc.
--We talked a lot about the defense on Saturday, and it stepped up again, forcing 16 Orlando turnovers.
A starting change
With Robinson out of the lineup, Neemias Queta started at center. He had eight points in 27 minutes, and he pulled down nine rebounds.
Hugo Gonzalez also started in place of Jordon Walsh. Gonzalez had seven points in 14 minutes. Walsh did play, but he didn't score in 13 minutes. He had three rebounds and two assists.
Up next
The Celtics and Rockets will play at 8:30 p.m. ET on Monday night in Houston. The Rockets are coming off a 119-98 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Coached by former C's head coach Ime Udoka, Houston is 6-1.
