Nikola Vucevic has been out since getting injured on March 6.

The Boston Celtics will take on the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night (8 p.m. ET) and they'll do so without big man Nikola Vucevic, who hasn't played since March 6 because of a fracture in his right ring finger.

He had surgery on March 7 and is working toward a return, but with only six games left in the regular season, he's running out of time to come back before the playoffs.

The Celtics enter Friday's matchup at 55-21. With just those six games left before the playoffs, the C's look likely to slot in as the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

About Vucevic

A 35-year-old native of Switzerland, Vucevic is in his 15th NBA season with the Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers, Chicago Bulls and Celtics. A two-time All-Star, he stands 6'9, but he plays the center position. Averaging 15.6 ppg this season, he's also pulling down 8.6 rebounds.

He's shooting 49.6 percent from the floor and 37.3 percent from three-point range. He averages 17.1 ppg for this career. When he comes back, Vucevic can shoot the ball from deep, and he can be effective in the screen-and-roll game, and he can also serve as a good passer from the top of the perimeter.

The Celtics have lacked a true stretch big man most of the season after moving on from both Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis last offseason.

Vucevic played just 12 games with the C's before getting injured. He was averaging 10.4 ppg.

Vucevic has also played in 16 career playoff games, so he does have experience in big-game scenarios in his career, which can only help as the C's chase banner number 19 this season.

However, it would behoove the Celtics to get him back before the playoffs so he can get a taste of playing with Jayson Tatum, who was not back in the fold yet when he was acquired.

--The C's rolled over the Miami Heat on Wednesday night, 147-129. Boston got double-digit scoring efforts from Jaylen Brown, Tatum, Sam Hauser, Neemias Quetta, Luka Garza and Payton Pritchard.

Tatum recorded a triple-double, yet it was his rebounding that actually made team history.

--The Celtics will be back home on Sunday against the Toronto Raptors and they'll do so with an all-female broadcast team on NBC Sports Boston.
