The Celtics moved to 3-1 on the young season with a 125-124 win on Tuesday night.
Playing in the second game of a back-to-back, the Boston Celtics toppled the Brooklyn Nets 125-124 on Tuesday night at TD Garden to move to 3-1 on the young season.
Tied at 117 entering overtime, Jayson Tatum hit the game-winner from right around the foul line to earn the win. The rebuilding Nets are now 0-4.
It was a big night for Tatum, who led the way with 40 points on 10-of-20 shooting. He still struggled from 3-point range, going just 2-of-7, but he filled up the stat sheet across the board. He had eight assists, five rebounds and was a whopping 18-of-22 at the foul line.
What about beyond Tatum?
Outside of Tatum, Boston got solid performances from multiple players, including getting 20 points from Paul George in 36 minutes. Mitchell Robinson added seven points and five rebounds in 25 minutes. It was important to see both players play on the second night of a back-to-back, considering there have been questions about both players health previously. Boston also got 16 points from Derrick White and 15 from Jordan Walsh.
Sam Hauser had 11.
The only negative?
In Monday's win over the Chicago Bulls, Payton Pritchard was the shot-maker, going for a game-high 28. In this one? He had just four points in 24 minutes, marking his second clunker in the last three games. He did have six assits.
