Remember over the weekend when Basketball Hall of Famer Reggie Miller compared women's basketball standout Caitlin Clark to Boston Celtics guard Payton Pritchard?
"I like Payton Pritchard from Boston, the way he's able to handle the basketball. He makes big shots when the shot clock is running down, a lot like this young lady right here. Isn't afraid of the big moment and is a champion like she's soon to be."
Well, a lot of people on the internet thought that Clark wasn't too happy with that comparison, insisting that she is much closer to Steph Curry or Luka Doncic than the C's diminutive guard.
Well, after Pritchard hit a buzzer beater at the end of the first quarter against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night, Clark had a little fun on social media.
Check out her post on "X" below:
A 28-year-old who played his college ball at the University of Oregon, Pritchard is now in his sixth year with the Celtics. The Sixth Man of the Year in 2024-25, he is averaging a career-high 16.9 ppg this season while shooting 34.9 percent from three-point range. In the absence of Jayson Tatum, out all season with a Torn Achilles, he's helped keep the Celtics upright alongside MVP candidate Jaylen Brown.
The Celtics are 32-18 and in a tie for second place in the Eastern Conference.
From Celtics Roundtable writer Tom Carroll, who spoke about Pritchard coming off the bench for the C's:
Coming off the bench didnāt slow Pritchard down in the slightest.
He carved up Dallasā defense for 26 points and 7 assists, doing most of his damage inside the arc while still playing starter-level minutes.
The Celtics didnāt lose any offensive rhythm with the change, and if anything, the second unit looked more organized with Pritchard steering it.
Joe Mazzulla may not commit to this alignment long-term, but the early returns were exactly what Boston hoped for.
The C's traded guard Anfernee Simons to the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday, picking up big man Nikola Vucevic in exchange. The 15-year veteran will help the Celtics get another post presence, but one who can also stretch the floor. He's averaging 16.9 ppg and 9.0 rebounds and he's also an excellent passer.
The Celtics will be back in action on Wednesday against old friend Ime Udoka and the Houston Rockets.
