After beating the Orlando Magic on Sunday afternoon, the Celtics closed out the regular season at 56-26.

The Boston Celtics wrapped up the regular season with a 113-108 win over the Orlando Magic on Sunday night at TD Garden.

With the win, the C's finished the regular season at 56-26. They received the No. 2 seed in the looming Eastern Conference playoffs, which is an amazing accomplishment given that they lost or let go of Jrue Holliday, Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford last offseason. Furthermore, superstar Jayson Tatum was out for most of the season, not returning from his Achilles tendon injury until March.

As the No. 2 seed, the Celtics look like a real threat to advance to the NBA Finals, and they could potentially win it for the second time in the last three years. Boston last won the title in 2023-24 when they beat the Dallas Mavericks.

About the playoff schedule

As released by the NBA on Sunday night, the Celtics will open up the playoffs on April 19 against the winner of the play-in tournament game between the Philadelphia 76ers and Magic. The game will be played at 1 p.m. ET on ABC.

The play-in game between Philly and Orlando is set for Wednesday night (7:30 p.m. ET) in Philadelphia.

The rest of the Eastern Conference field features the No. 1 Detroit Pistons against the No. 8 seed, which can be either Philadelphia, Orlando, Miami or Charlotte.

The No. 3 New York Knicks will play the No. 6 Atlanta Hawks and the No. 4 Cleveland Cavaliers will play the No. 5 Toronto Raptors.

About Sunday's win

The Celtics played this game without most of their regulars: Tatum didn't play, and neither did Jaylen Brown, Neemias Queta, Derrick White, Payton Pritchard or Nikola Vucevic.

The reserves put on a show for the home crowd though, as Baylor Scheireman scored 30 points on 8-of-20 shooting and both Ron Harper Jr. and Luka Garza added 27. Garza also had 12 rebounds. John Tonje scored 13 points off the bench, hitting four threes.

Boston made 19 three-pointers in the victory, attempting 50. The three-point shot will continue to be a huge part of their attack in the playoffs. The Celtics were also an astounding 22-of-22 at the foul line.

For the Magic, Paolo Banchero had 23 points in 38 minutes, and Jalen Suggs also had 23. Banchero grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds as well.

We'll cover the Celtics all playoffs long here at Celtics Roundtable as the organization goes for banner No. 19.
